Recovery Begins With Acceptance
In today’s environment, many people mask their struggles with unhealthy habits that manifest into addictive patterns. These addictive behaviors can result in long-term consequences impacting every facet of their lives. The external image they often project is high-functioning, while inside these individuals are quietly suffering, scared and often ashamed.
As a high-functioning executive, Karen knows first hand what it is like to bottle up her emotions, prioritize work and the needs of others over her own. After numbing and hurting herself for many years, Karen chose to take steps to support her own recovery. With a supportive family, a special women’s group and therapy, she was able to control her own unhealthy behaviors and become a stronger, better version of the person she always longed to become.
Along her journey, Karen was fortunate to join a women’s support group. Finding community with individuals who also suffered with their own addictive behaviors helped her recognize that she was not alone. In time, Karen became an active member of the group. She immersed herself in learning the science behind addiction, essential tools to support herself and other women along their recovery journey, and passionately dedicated time to facilitating support groups. Through this process, Karen found herself and her passion.

In recovery, a coach can help you build essential skills to navigate the pressures of daily life.
